Brand names and parent vendor names
Every product in the STN Database has an associated Vendor. A product may also have an associated Brand (aka. brand_id).
The Brand is populated when it is more relevant to the consumer as the recognized brand. For example, a Calico Critters item from Epoch may be best presented to the shopper under the Brand name ‘Calico Critters‘.
When the brand_id is populated in this fashion, the PDBHub data pushed to your site will, in most cases, default to using the Brand Name and Logo.
The Calico Critters brand is also associated as a child of Epoch Everlasting so that product request reports are translated correctly to the parent Vendor.
